Here is another Expo highlight: Meet the Scientists: Saturday and Sunday, 12-4pm
Imagine chatting with Thomas Edison, shaking hands with Robert Oppenheimer, or having your picture taken with Jacques Cousteau...Where else can you meet the Wright Brothers, Rachael Carson, or George Washington Carver? Look for them near the Mellon Auditorium (designated by stars on the Expo map) and don't be shy to ask your questions!

The Expo will take place at the

Walter E. Washington Convention Center

801 Mount Vernon Place (between 9th and 7th Streets NW on L Street NW)

More than 3000 fun, hands-on activities for all ages (create your personal list of must-see exhibits here).

Over 150 stage shows, including music, magic, comedy and more (create your personal Stage Show Schedule here).

A Career Pavilion and College Fair for high-school students and a Book Fair with over 25 Featured Authors.

The free "2014 Lockheed Martin USASEF" mobile app provides students with a virtual passport to journey through the exciting technologies and hands-on demonstrations within Lockheed Martin's 56,000 square foot exhibit space, and a chance to win prizes.

Explore science and engineering with over 3000 fun, hands-on activities grouped into 16 different Pavilions, such as Astronomy and Space Exploration, Earth Sciences, Energy, Health and Medicine, Sustainability and more. Pilot a plane at one of Lockheed Martin’s flight simulators, take a trip to Antarctica, watch 3D printers in action, explore solar flares and sunspots, check out the Girl Zone in the National Security Pavilion or get an early jump on your STEM career preparation in the Career Pavilion. Choose from over 150 stage shows featuring They Might Be Giants, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Mike Rowe, Michio Kaku, Miss California Crystal Lee, ZOZI Extreme Sports Champions, Danica McKellar, Apollo Robbins, Nate Ball, and many more. In addition, meet and hear these and other prominent science  and engineering authors at the Festival’s Book Fair: Alan Kurzweil (Potato Chip Science); Megan McDonald (Stink Solar System Superhero); George D. Morgan (Rocket Girl), Tammy Enz (Batman Science), David Aquilar (Alien World), Jason Chin (Gravity) and Art Benjamin (Secrets of Mental Math). Sign Up to Volunteer for the X-STEM Symposium, Sneak Peek Friday and the EXPO now! Pick your own job and shift on our Volunteer Opportunities page. Positions are going quickly. We also have opportunities to volunteer with groups of 10 or more on Sneak Peek Friday and Expo weekend. Shifts begin as early as Tuesday, April 22nd to Sunday, April 27th. Celebrate science!

The 3rd USA Science & Engineering Festival, the largest science festival in the US, features nationwide contests and school programs, including our popular 'Nifty Fifty' science speaker program - presented by InfoComm International. The Festival culminates in a Grand Finale Expo on April 26-27, 2014, with the US News STEM Solutions Conference on April 23-25, and Sneak Peek Friday - presented by the Department of Defense - on April 25. New this year: X-STEM - presented by Northrop Grumman Foundation and MedImmune - an Extreme STEM Symposium for students on April 24.
