Science Cheerleader, in partnership with the USA Science and Engineering Festival, Science For Citizens, and Discover Magazine, invites you to join in the world’s biggest cheer for science and engineering!

What: World’s biggest cheer for science and engineering

When: Friday April 27, 2012, noon-12:01 ET

Where: Anchored by the USA Science and Engineering Festival at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center where more than 5,000 people will join in the BIG CHEER FOR SCIENCE . Additional locations will include schools and USASEF satellite events across the nation.

Who: EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE! The Science Cheerleaders—current and former NFL and NBA cheerleaders who are pursuing science and engineering careers—will lead the cheer in Washington, D.C., and in select locales.

Why:
  • Kick off the USA Science and Engineering Festival in Washington, D.C. and across the nation in schools and at satellite events
  • See if our enthusiasm for science can move the Earth! (Some participating educators will win seismographs to monitor the seismic activity of the cheer in classrooms.)
  • Because science and engineering deserve to be cheered
  • Who knows? We might even secure a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records

WAIT! We need a cheer! Soon, we’ll invite you to send us a video of your best science or engineering cheer. First place winner will receive $1,000! Second place: $500. Third place: $250.
