Participate in the Festival Book Fair!
New this year to the 2nd USA Science and Engineering Festival is the Book Fair - an excellent opportunity for science and engineering authors, booksellers, and publishers to reach a large science-loving audience over two days. Read on to learn how you can get involved by hosting a book fair exhibit and/or submitting a book.
Apply to Host a Book Fair Exhibit:
Science and engineering authors, publishers, independent booksellers - apply to host a book exhibit at the new Festival Book Fair to take place on Saturday and Sunday at the Finale Expo taking place in Washington, DC, April 27-29, 2012. We are seeking book exhibits which fit into the Festival’s overall mission of inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers.
While people of all ages will pass by your booth, you may also choose to have an activity related to your book or books geared towards a 12th grade science understanding or below. We recommend that you have an author, scientist or engineer at the booth at all times – kids love to “meet the scientist”!
The Book Fair will be Saturday and Sunday, but exhibitors will be required to set up on Friday. All exhibitors are expected to participate for the two full days. During that time, your booth needs to be staffed by warm, smiling faces at all times.
Book Fair Exhibitors will be allowed to sell books which fit the overall mission of the Festival.
Fees: Early Bird Book Fair Exhibit Fee: $1,500 before December 31, 2011. This fee includes one 10x10 space, one table, two chairs, one 20 AMP electrical outlet, if needed. These rates are heavily discounted and subsidized by the USA Science & Engineering Festival sponsors and help us offset the tremendous cost of putting on an event of this caliber. The Early Bird Book Fair Exhibit Fee is good for authors, publishers, and independent book-sellers selected to participate prior to December 31, 2011. All books offered for sale will be reviewed for appropriateness. We ask that all books comply with the overall focus of our festival: to re-invigorate the interest of our nation's youth in science, technology, engineering and math.
