This fall, Fuel Your School makes it easy for local communities to help generate funding for public schools in 19 markets. From Oct. 1 through Oct. 31, 2013, the Fuel Your School program will donate $1, up to a total of nearly $7.1 million, to help fund eligible classroom projects when consumers purchase 8 or more gallons of fuel at participating local Chevron and Texaco stations in 14 U.S. markets. For a list of participating communities, please visit www.FuelYourSchool.com.
Fuel Your School is an innovative collaboration with DonorsChoose.org, an online organization that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need. All year, public school teachers across the U.S. post classroom project requests on DonorsChoose.org, ranging from pencils to microscope slides, and even live tarantulas for use with biology lessons. Individuals and entities can browse project requests and give any amount to a project that inspires them. Once a project reaches its funding goal, DonorsChoose.org delivers the materials to the classroom.
Teachers can submit an eligible classroom project request detailing the materials and supplies they need at DonorsChoose.org, where Chevron's donations are used to help fund their eligible classroom projects.
Chevron's Fuel Your School program can make a big impact for public school students and their future. Be sure to tell everyone you know - friends, relatives, even the cashier at the grocery store - about fueling up at a Chevron or Texaco station during the month of October.
