The KidWind Challenge is a hands-on application of renewable energy education. Student teams put their knowledge of wind power to work as they design and construct wind turbines to produce as much power as possible. Teams earn points for efficiency, creativity, and functionality, but, at its core, the Challenge is about learning and having a good time.
Student teams can qualify for the National Challenge, and the chance to win the grand prize, in two ways:
• By competing in the KidWind Challenge Online - students can build and learn to test windmills all from a home or school computer!
• By registering and competing in a KidWind Challenge Event (to see if there's one in your area, click here)!
