Contests, contests, contests! 

kavli video science contest USA Science  Engineering FestivalNow entering its third year, the Kavli Science Video Contest, an international middle and high school student competition that is held as part of the USA Science & Engineering Festival, is now accepting entries for the 3rd Contest with the theme "Science in Fiction"!

Students in grades 6-12 will investigate how science is portrayed in popular movies, TV shows and video games. Winners will be honored in a special festival EXPO Awards show in Washington, D.C. during the weekend of April 26-27, 2014. KidWind logoThe KidWind Challenge is a hands-on application of renewable energy education. Student teams put their knowledge of wind power to work as they design and construct wind turbines to produce as much power as possible. Joe Kennedy (D) in urging Congress to vote for H.Res. 276, which calls upon the U.S. House of Representatives to support the goals and ideals of National Science Week and the biennial USA Science & Engineering Festival in Washington, D.C. The resolution also calls on State and local governments to recognize the last week in April, 2014 as a National Science Week.
