Vol. 3, No. 5

We are almost one year away from the largest celebration of science & engineering with plenty of news to share! The Festival planning has been going strong with year round programs in full force including our affiliate and satellite events. We are now proud members of the Business Roundtable and are seeking STEM programs to fund. Get behind the scenes of the Festival with our Info Webinar coming up April 24th. And finally the Festival is seeking a Sales Associate to join our team!

The excitement level for Festival Expo week in April 2014 just went up a notch! The Festival has joined with U.S. News & World Report to host the national gathering of the U.S. News STEM Solutions Conference at the Expo during the week of April 21, 2014 in DC. So, in addition to being inspired at the Expo, why not also attend the conference to meet and learn from more than 2,000 high-impact leaders and visionaries in STEM reform and workforce initiatives? And stay tuned for more joint opportunities with both of these high-profile events!

Act now! Join the growing list of science and engineering organizations --such as Lockheed Martin, Johns Hopkins University, National Science Teachers Association, and the Smithsonian -- who have already signed up as Exhibitors for the Festival Expo, April 26-27, 2014. Don't miss this chance to showcase your institution's expertise in this high-profile, unforgettable weekend celebration of science aimed at inspiring the next generation of innovators!

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 16th to view exclusive footage of Marvel's Iron Man 3 on the Festival Facebook Page brought to us by Verizon FIOS! For every click of the release, Verizon FIOS will donate money towards the Festival which will help us to continue to bring a free celebration of science & engineering to the general public!

Don't miss out on one of the hottest tickets for Festival Expo 2014: the X-STEM Extreme Symposium in Washington, DC, presented by Northrup Grumman Foundation! This unforgettable, all-day event gives elementary through high school students the unique opportunity to meet and learn from some of the most inspiring minds in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) – including prominent Hollywood film stuntman and special effects expert Steve Wolf who instructs students in physics and chemistry with his daring feats, and aerospace motivator Barrington Irving who at the age of 23 in 2007 became the youngest person to pilot a plane solo around the world!
