Last month, the Volunteer Outreach Team held its first meeting of the year. This meeting was a little bit different because first and foremost it was our opportunity to say thank you to the volunteers who made the 3rd USA Science & Engineering Festival so successful! Executive Director, Mark Schulman; Senior Director, Lauren Raymond Gicas were on hand to personally thank the volunteers for all their hard work and give them the opportunity make suggestions for 4th USA Science and Engineering Festival. They also introduced the new Director of Community Outreach, Courtney Counts Brown. Courtney will be taking over the duties of Laura Angle, who gave countless hours since the first Festival to build the volunteer and school programs! Laura moved on to start her own nonprofit focusing on STEM Education shortly after the 2014 Festival and will be missed for all of her hard work over the last several years!
Overall, it was a great opportunity to reflect on the amazing journey of the Festival, as many of the volunteers have been participating since the very beginning. Thank you again to all of our amazing volunteers! Interested in becoming a volunteer? Click here to find out how you can join the USA Science & Engineering Festival Volunteer Outreach Team.
