Join Paleontologist ‘Dr. Scott’ of PBS ‘Dinosaur Train’ at the Expo!
Step back in time with the famous dinosaur paleontologist Dr. Scott Sampson during the Festival Expo weekend as he takes you inside the mysteries of the most fascinating prehistoric creatures that once roamed the Earth!
Perhaps best known as “Dr. Scott” for his role as host and science advisor of the Emmy-nominated PBS KIDS series Dinosaur Train, this renowned scientist is passionate about connecting children and others with the wonder of dinosaurs and nature. Dinosaur Train is currently viewed daily by millions of youngsters and parents in more than 100 countries.
At the Expo on the weekend of April 16-17, be in the audience when Dr. Scott conducts a must-see interactive stage show that offers kids the chance to be junior paleontologists for a day. Children will learn the ins and outs of being a dinosaur paleontologist -- ranging from that “Aha” moment of discovery, to digging up and preparing fossils, to studying these specimens as a scientist! Dr. Scott will also engage the audience in such questions as: What is a dinosaur and what isn’t? How do we reconstruct dinosaurs? and What did dinosaurs eat? He’ll even share one of his BIG secrets at the end!
He is also prominently known in his field as vice president of research and collections and chief curator at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, where much of his work focuses on rethinking 21st Century cities as places where people and nature thrive.
